APPOINTMENTS

For locations, please see the Contact Us page of this website. Office hours vary by provider, location, and day of the week. To make an appointment, please call the office location of your choice.

We schedule appointments for routine examinations, full skin screenings, cosmetic procedures, surgical procedures and diagnostic procedures in all office locations, but laser procedures are only available in our TriBeCa office. In order to minimize the waiting time in our office, which can be stressful and frustrating, some appointments types are only available on certain days or certain times of day. Despite our best efforts, unforeseen delays occur. If you are concerned about delays on the day of your appointment, please call the office an hour before your appointment to see how the schedule is running.

As a courtesy to our patients, we make every attempt to confirm all appointments 2-3 business days in advance of appointments. In the event you cannot keep your appointment, please notify the office 2 business days in advance, so that we can offer the open slot to another patients. Appointments cancelled with less than 2 business days notice are subject to a cancellation fee of $35, and failure to show for an appointment without notice is subject to a $75 no-show fee.

TELEPHONE MESSAGES

Our office receives a large volume of calls every day, and our staff is adept at answering most patient questions. Because our providers spend their office hours caring for patients with appointments, they are unable to take patient telephone calls during the day. Please allow the staff to assist you with your questions whenever possible. If your problem is urgent and requires your provider's individual attention, please communicate that to the staff member who answers your call, so that the provider can be information.

Thankfully, in dermatology, true medical emergencies are exceptionally rare. Most conditions can wait to be treated during regular office hours. We make every effort to accommodate urgent problems as soon as possible. However, in the case of a true medical emergency, please call your primary care provider, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room for care.

HEALTH INSURANCE PLANS

Our providers participate in several insurance plans, as below. To confirm that we accept your plan, please call our office - your insurance carrier's list of participating providers may be out of date. Participation means that our office submits claims for each visit to your insurance carrier(s), and payment is calculated and provided by the insurance carrier. Patients are responsible for providing accurate personal and insurance information, photo identification, a valid insurance card, and all necessary referrals if required. Co-payments are collected at the time of service.

If your insurance plan requires a referral, please bring the referral with you to your appointment. Please call the office to determine how the referral should be made out. Patients whose plans requires a referral, and who come to their appointment without a valid or properly executed referral, will be offered the choice of rescheduling their appointment and paying a $50 no-referral fee, or signing an insurance waiver and being seen as scheduled.

A partial list of insurance plans we participate with include Empire Blue Cross / Blue Shield, Cigna, HealthNet, United Healthcare, Oxford, Medicare, Aetna, GHI, 1199, Magnacare and Guardian.

If your insurance plan determines that any portion of our charges are cosmetic, not covered services, are applied to your annual deductible, or otherwise are your responsibility to pay for, we will issue you an invoice. Prompt payment is appreciated. Services known to be cosmetic will not be submitted to your insurance carrier, and payment is due at the time of service.

We hope this information clarifies our office policies and procedures. We are always eager to discuss any issues that may arise in the course of our patients' care. Our goal is to provide personalized, top-notch dermatologic care, further the important provider-patient relationship, and enhance each patient's experience in our office.
